Long Term Conditions: DH midpoint review NB SURVEY CLOSES 6 DEC
The Department of Health proposes a midpoint review of The National Service Framework for Long Term Conditions, and invites those interested to take part in an online survey to help develop the review.
The survey asks, for example, if the review should cover service provision and patient experience, and who should take part.
Make sure you have your say. The survey consists of 6 very straightforward questions. The link is on this page which gives more background to the Framework.
CLOSING DATE 6 DECEMBER
12,000 Tories and me - Close encounters of the Hurd Kind
Report by Hillary Box
Manchester Central was barricaded off, Group 4 was doing its best to bring down the unemployment figures, UKIP urged David Cameron to call a referendum on Europe, and a man (or woman) dressed as a fox as being hit on the hindquarters by someone protesting on behalf of foxes. Or perhaps it was hunters. I was at the Conservative Party Conference 2009 (theme ‘Ready for Change’).

I was recently asked to represent Tourette’s Action on the National Voices Service User Panel – a group representing people from minority groups, charitable and voluntary organisations and people with disabilities across the UK. National Voices itself is a relatively young organisation that was born from the amalgamation of several smaller action groups and now aspires to be the main group speaking up for those who need their voices to be heard at Government level.
Where is the Money for Carers?
New research, carried out by two of the UK’s leading carers’ charities The Princess Royal Trust for Carers and Crossroads Care, has uncovered approximately £40m of the £50m allocated by the government for carers support is failing to reach carers.
